    The Coordinator Residence Life, working under the mission and vision of Residential Communities, will work cooperatively with the Residential Communities staff (Area Coordinators, GCDs, RAs, DAs) to develop, implement and assess a comprehensive programming and leadership plan for students living in Residential Communities.

    Additional Department Summary: 

    • Responsible for developing a comprehensive training and professional development plan for all graduate and undergraduate staff within Residential Communities.
    • Responsible for organizing and developing on-going professional development opportunities and continuing education for student staff and assist with the coordination of professional staff training within residential communities.
    • Responsible for completing required training that is related to laws and regulations that creates a more hospitable and respectful workplace and safer work environment.
    • Has personal accountability for financial reporting and responsibility for establishing, enforcing, and following internal processes and controls as outlined in UA policies and procedures.
    • Assists Housing and Residential Communities' Assistant Director of Residence Education in the recruitment and interview process as well as manage training databases and generate reports for department.

    This position will require significant "extra hours" during staff training and selection periods, including hall openings and closings and sign-up process for returning students. This position will need to be flexible in work habits to allow for the extended work schedule to attend evening meetings and training.

    Skills and Knowledge: General knowledge of student development theories. Additional skills needed in counseling, organization, interaction, recruitment and training.

    Demonstrated commitment to expand multicultural knowledge, awareness and skills as evidenced through: demonstrating self awareness, understanding and valuing others, demonstrating knowledge of social inequalities, interacting effectively with a diversity of people, fostering equity and inclusion

    Required Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or Master's degree. Experience may include supervisory experience, customer service, advising, delegation, communication, management, creativity, creative problem solving and/or general knowledge/willingness to implement programs and initiatives that involves using student development theory. Student, Graduate Assistant, intern or student-oriented experience will be considered. To be considered student experience, it must be detailed in the employment section on the application.

    Preferred Qualifications:  Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Public Administration or other relevant field. Prefer supervisory experience, professional development, training, student affairs and customer service experience.
