Project Management that Works for Training Professionals

As training professionals, we need to juggle multiple priorities in order to successfully deliver our courses. In addition, we need to: understand our customer's needs, clearly define our goals, effectively communicate, acquire the right resources at the right time, and many more activities. By incorporating some basic practices from the Project Management profession, we can take control of our projects. Come learn some real-world proven tools and techniques that you can immediately apply to your specific situation. These tools and techniques will help you to be more effective and focused on delivering courses on time and on budget.

  • What is project management and how it will benefit me directly
  • How to start off a project on the right path
  • Proper technique for understanding your customers' needs and focusing them on a defined set of deliverables
  • How to determine resource needs and ensure that they will be available when you need them
  • Proactively managing issues and risks

Brian M. Rabon, CSM, CSP, MSEE, PMP is the President of The Braintrust Consulting Group, a provider of project management solutions for a wide range of software related projects. Brian holds a BS in Computer Science from Auburn University and an MSEE from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is an avid author, blogger, and speaker at conferences, professional organizations, and user groups.
